So I finally completed my Fujifilm kit. A few days ago, I scooped up an XF 27mm 2.8 (silver) to pair of with the XE2 and I couldn’t be more delighted. Initially, I had wondered if it would give me the same experience as I had with my previous X100/s and I most say, it does. The XF 27mm transform your Fuji XE2/1/XT1/XPRO1 into an X100/s like experience. Here’s a recent image from a photowalk.
Things I like the XF 27mm
- diminutive size aka stealth factor
- sharp as a razor where it needs to be
I can see this lens permanently glued to my XE2 as my daily driver. When I need shallow depth of field or low light, in comes the XF 35mm and for an all around lens then there is the XF 18-55mm.

I bought the X-E1 and love it, Oliver. If I knew first-hand how the X-E2 performed, I might wish for an E-E2. But, I don’t. Oliver, you mention that you consider the X-A1. I’d look to the X-M1 instead, because of the sensor. The X-A1 uses a conventional bayer array sensor, where the X-M1 uses the Fuji X-Trans sensor like the X-E1 or and X-Pro. To my mind, the X-Trans sensors are the soul of the Fuji cameras.
Thanks for your insights Geren, much apreciated
I a proud owner of a x100s… more or less i wish that I have bought X-E2 or X-Pro1. Changeable Lens is in different situation a good thing 🙂
And yes I will wait also for a pricedrop after the Photokina.

Wonderful pictures. I am still thinking about switching to Fuji x.
What’s holding you back Oliver.
Money and my Ricoh GR IV. I am waiting for the Photokina, expecting some pricedrop on older models.
Jorge, i am thinking about x-E1 or x-A1 or maybe Ricoh GR Limited. 🙂
XE1 is still a fine camera in my opinion, I just like the XE2 more :). GR limited ah, hmm, I tell you when the time comes.
At the Moment I’m using my Ricoh GRIV a lot, beside Nikon D300.
GRD 4 is a fine camera still, well both of those.
