As I mentioned in my last post, I’m on a short break from Flickr but to be honest, you’re heart felt comments have really touched me in more ways that you can image, thank you once again for all your kind words and support.
I went yesterday for a quick hour and half stroll through Downtown Miami and I was completely taken back by the amount of great street photography scenes there yesterday. Luckily, my trusty GRD was there with me, as she always is, and we did our thing. I was not going to post until I fully returned back from the break, but to be honest, its your comments and the spirit of Flickr which pulled me back for one last image before I go on break officially.
As of recent, I’ve been getting inspired by the work of fellow togs who love to do street portraits. These images are not only powerful but when well done, really capture the humanity of all life. All life is precious and I photograph these to remind myself and hopefully others who see these images that we must be empathetic with the causes of the world that have led these, our fellow humans, our neighbors, to have fallen on hard times. Life is but a whirlwind, today we’re up and tomorrow we may be down. So with this image I’d like to join my fellow togs in the crusade to create public awareness because together we can help in some way, shape, or form.
“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”

Be good friends and we’ll see you soon, and back on the saddle.
Cheers,
Jorge
I really enjoy your b&w photos. I just got a hold of a GRD 3 and I wonder if you would share your camera settings with me?
Rich, like Cuban coffee. You are sucking the marrow from the bone, dipping the bread in the gravy and sopping up all of the flavor of life with these shots. I am a fan!
Awesome b&w portrait.

excellent portrait
Very Deep Shot!
Superb street capture! 🙂
