Tomatoes ― LX5
Readers of this blog will know that I just recently acquired yet another compact to fill a void I had encountered with my GRD3. After some thought, I decided that the Lumix LX5 would be the right tool for what I needed. Fast forward a few days and I’m putting the LX5 through its paces and doing what I do with the GRD3 and then some.
Red Pepper ― LX5
My fiancee and I usually love gonig to the market to do our shopping on Friday evening after 8pm, if we’re not going out anywhere. The market is relatively empty and as usual I carry the little cart around while she gathers all the good ― perfect opportunity for me to grab some photos. This time, I took the LX5 and I particularly wanted to test its great macro capability which I knew from the LX3 would be great but I wanted to see what improved. I purposely chose things that had various degrees of texture which add depth to photos.
Orange Pepper ― LX5
To my surprise, the autofocus at 24mm wide open was super speedy and I don’t think the camera went over ISO 400 for these shots. What I found was that the color this Leica lens produces is quite natural and very soothing to the eye. These shots were minimally processed and just a slight S curve applied. I really wanted to keep things minimal and let the lens shine or fail through but when I was very happily impressed with the results. These shots are not meant to be artistic but just a bit of fun on a Friday evening with the LX5.
Romaine Lettuce ― LX5
Garlic ― LX5
Potatoes ― LX5
Beer ― LX5
Gouda Cheese ― LX5
Danish Cheese ― LX5
Blue Cheese ― LX5
White Chocolate Cream ― LX5
Italian Pasta Sauce ― LX5
