Conversation ― 450D
I usually never shoot with a theme in mind but this week is a little different I wanted to experiment with grain and also continue to work on candids(I’m gearing up for an upcoming wedding). Also I figure I’d give a bit of background on some shots. The first was a scene that just happened and looked to good to pass up the light was perfect and even though its slightly off focus I think it works beautifully. The image went thru a VSCO Film preset and tweaked to my liking.
Hope & Change ― LX5
This one is a wonderful example of what can pumped from a high end point and shoot. Set this baby up in Macro mode with the slide of a finger, stopped down a little bit, and the rest you can see for yourselves. I really believe Lumix does this very very well. Again here, I used another VSCO preset based on Fuji 800Z which I just love.
I See You ― 450D
The smile here just worked and this is the kind of shot I’m really looking to perfect or master, you know, that documentary style of reportage, mixing in and going unnoticed capturing special moments.
Determination ― LX5
Here I’m back to my usual stomping grounds of Downtown Miami and putting the this little camera through it paces. I believe I had the step zoom here at 35mm a focal length that I feel really comfortable with on the streets. This particular shot was processed in Silver Efex Pro with some added structure to create that intensity.
Dreams Last Forever ― 450D
The famous new Canon pancake ― the 40mm 2.8, the perfect walk around prime lens in my humble opinion, its relatively fast, its tiny, and as a bonus can be used hand held at very low shutter speeds. This was shot was taken at Eda Cake Designs a famous Wedding cake house in Coral Gables, the light was fading already but the lens behaved very nicely.
In God We Trust ― LX5
And finally, this shot was taken minutes before I entered church for Sunday mass, the statue looked so idyllic I just had to make a picture.
All images by Jorge Ledesma.
