Ricoh GR inspired by Daido Moriyama

The master of the compact camera, Daido Moriyama, is truly an inspirational documentary photographer. His grittiness, pouring his soul on processing, are just but a few of the many characteristics that define this living great. With that said, I delved into Silver Efex to create a custom preset for the Ricoh GR and these are the initial results. As always, presets are not the end all be all of processing but only serve as a starting point to get really intimate with the image.

I like how people still dissect what camera he uses, when everything points to him not really caring, he seems to select something that won’t get in his way, and that’s about it.

Jorge, do you know this one? More extreme but maybe closer to Daido, he pushes the contrast really hard and “burns” his images in the darkroom excessive. http://goo.gl/uwpqZ

Agree, but they work perfect with my 2-bath developed flat film-negatives :-), anyway, can’t wait to see your final results

Jorge, these last few images are much more the the initial ones. These show you and the camera working together.

Don’t tell this to Wouter but truth is truth. Beautiful.
