Ricoh GR: Color frames

I know its a known fact the Ricoh Digital Series cameras produce wonderful black and whites. With the recent debut of the smallest compact with an aps-c sensor ― the Ricoh GR has gotten some comments to the effect that the reds have some sort of problem. Currently, I’m still on Lightroom 3 but I thought I would let you all know that there is a special ACR profile Adobe developed for the Ricoh GR which is already available for Photoshop CS6 but tonight I hope to have a chance and get to that hack.. In the meantime, here are some snaps from a recent photowalk this past Saturday in Little Havana, Miami.

Nice work on the site here Jorge. With the colour samples how did you find the AWB? Is it accurate or need much tweaking?

  2. I’ve really been enjoying your updates with the GR. It’s nice to see someone with a little bit of irreverence towards DxO. Your b&w conversions were fun to see and I’m looking forward to how some of the colour work turns out.

    • Thanks Erik! All this DXO, charts, etc are really not important and worth examining. What I care about is how the GR will affect my photography, if it will be a tool towards the vision I can to create.

BW are kind cool, Silver Efex is a great tool and it gets me to where I want quicker. I’m going to also explore BW conversations further with Pixelmator(Mac Photoshop clone) and see how that turns out.

Color is cracking I think, great tones across the board. Later on this week I published something with the new ACR 8.1 color profile for the GR. Thanks again for chiming in. Cheers
