For me, photography is not a means by which to create beautiful art, but a unique way of encountering genuine reality. Daido Moriyama
Its not often you fall in love with someone, break up, and then somehow, almost in a miraculous way, you mature, and end up seeking that another person. One can say, that you value such a person for everthing they do or represent, but in essence describing feelings can certainly be a tricky scenario. Sometimes you can’t quite point your finger at it but other times you can aim with reassurance you’ve made a great decision in trying to rekindle a relationship.
Summer Rain ― Ricoh GRD3
But my experience is not related to another human being, I’m happily in a relationship with a woman who’s very special, my experience is with an innanimate object, in fact, a camera I once had, sold(foolishly), and now almost a year later I repurchased ― the wonderful compact Ricoh GR Digital III or warmly known in the photography world as the GRD3.
Missing You ― Ricoh GRD3
Long time readers of this blog(or photo stream) know full well I"m a lover of small compact cameras and also dslr as well, I generally like small cameras whether they’re apc-s, m43, or compacts. I’ve always had a dilemma of wanting to have a camera I could take everywhere and really let my eyes roam free, such is the relationship with the GRD3.
91 Years ― Ricoh GRD3
So its in a way a bit ironic that after 28 continous weeks of photographing I’ve now made yet another self discovery and come full circle back to what makes me happy and that is having a photographic tool that’s always ready and willing regardless of the conditions (whether its day or night).
Solitude ― Ricoh GRD3
During the next few weeks I’ll be experimenting and seeing just how versatile this little digicam can prove to be in daily shooting.

Wow, very good idea and capture as well!!
Thanks Anthony, the cam opens up a whole new world of possibilities.
Stunning set! Really good ones from scratch, that’s for sure, but I really like the processing.
Revisiting the spaces we used to know, and worthy relationships, both are wise decisions. Ricoh rocks!
Thanks Rafael, Ricoh knows hows to cater to folks who like to take pictures. Love is in the air . . . more to come for sure. I’m also venturing into color. The colors are just stunning!. The processing, it was a combination of Lightroom 3, Silver Efex Pro, and a little VSCO films.
