Week 39 | 2012

Its hard to believe but here I am at the 39th week of 2012 and I’m still going with this project. I really want to thank my friend Wouter because without his wise words this project would have probably ended by now. After 39 weeks photographing almost everyday what does one learn? Well for me personally the journey has been quite interesting. I’ve tried more cameras than I care to name but I do finally agree that its the photographer behind the lens that creates the magic. I use to have a hard time coming this realization and always thought that the better gear gives you better images. Wrong, a better photographer will give you better photographs. I’m just a regular photographer like many of you reading this blog and I’m the most normal person you’d ever imagine but I can tell you that I have a vision and I know how to create it. Keep in mind I’m not saying I’m a great photographer. Market Adventures

Yesterday, I was feeling quite ill. You know the type of feeling where you body aches all over. Your nose feels like a water hose, yeah, those types of flu like symptoms which make you want to stay in bed all day. Nontheless, Isabel and I needed to go to the market to buy a few things we needed and what better way to spend my time at the market than snapping a few frames. I told Isabel, “babe, you take the cart and I’ll photograph a little bit,” she obliged and I was on my way roaming around the market like a tourist. Usually on this trips I used to take a small compact like a Ricoh GR Digital 3 or a Panasonic Lumix LX5, both of which have great macro features but these days I’m only shooting with one camera ― a dslr, the Canon 40D and a few lenses (but that’s another post, I just got a fast zoom).
