When it comes to street photography, I think we can objectively agree that being inconspicuous is a good skill to acquire early on, its just the way of a “Karyudo“. This particular shot was taken using the Ricoh GR ‘s Snap Focus feature at 2m. Again, I continue to use a combination of Silver Efex(a special preset I’m actively developing) and Lightroom. Notice the tones, the richness of the black and the wonderful greys, I’m now fully convinced Pentax-Ricoh struck just the right balance with the premier street photography tool ― the Ricoh GR.

Great snap. Would you be willing to share your setting? I use snap at 2 meters, f.6.3 and 1/125 but I’m a beginner. I dig the b/w on the GR but use it for all types of color photos, not just b/w street. GR gives you terrific sharpness, which is what I get exited about. I’m not really a huge bokeh person and I don’t like zooms.
You’re up to a good start with those settings but I would increase the shutter speed to 1/500 at a bare minimum but that’s just me.
Hi there Jorge
I came across your blog while researching for information on the new GR. I love what you’ve put up here, experiments, your vision – inspiring. This is a fantastic blog – keep going!
PS: I can only read and read while waiting for mine to arrive…
Great…
Brilliant capture! After seeing your shots with the GR I just can’t wait mine to arrive.
The shadow that dude is throwing is incredible. Very well captured and processed.
the perfect preset that works for every picture doesn’t exist.
the result you showed here is very nice.
perfect amount of grid and strong contrast without loosing to much detail.
B.T.W. thanks for sharing your thoughts on the GR, every days something to look out for… hope to see some more of it.

Indeed there is no perfect preset but just approximations towards a vision. it’s a work in progress but later on tonight I’m going to publish another one which I think comes close to the vision that I’m looking for from the gr. Thanks
just got mine yesterday Jorge excited to give it its first test drive. Love the slightly larger size. Feels good in the hand
Sweet John, nice to have you in the club. I look forward to your views and images. Indeed, it feels better, its the best feeling GR Series.
Amazing post-processing, well done Jorge.
Thank you Jurgen, its still a work in progress coupled with a little dodging and burning.
