While browsing for X100s images on Flickr (something I do sometimes while I’m in bed) and I bumped into this image from a photographer named Jonni Armani and I was instantly awe struck. “Oh my,” I told myself, if I could pull this of it will be amazing.
Feeling inspired by Dave LaBelle and his great book The Great Picture Hunt 2. Its full nuggets, things that have to be said and explained, and no one better the Dave to guide you through this journey.
As a storyteller I”m always looking for the best tools to make my work easier. My goal in this respect is having the right tools for my digital darkroom to have a consistent color palette in bw and color to transform my vision to that final frame.
These are a few shots from my Thursday happy hour outing at Cibo’s in Coral Gables. If you’re down in Miami, then cruise on by to Coral Gables, specifically Miracle Mile. Cibo’s wine selection is amazing and I wholeheartedly recommend it. I had a great time and their proscuitto is delicious and Veuve Clicquot is, well, a party in your mouth ― its my favorite.
Without a doubt in mind I wholeheartedly recommend it. Now its worthing mentioning the WCL which came before is also another great addition to the X100/s and now its possible to have a small and powerful kit sporting the 28mm, 35mm, and 50mm field of views
I currently shoot with Fujifilm X-Series cameras: the X100S and the X-Pro 1 as I believe they offer the right mix between image quality, portability, and the “ninja factor”. Prior to this I shot with the X-E1 and X100 LE as well but I always had a soft spot for the X-Pro 1. After I acquired the X-Pro 1 I wanted parity between my files so I ended upgrading to the X100S
Photography is all about our vision, its a way of seeing, a way of interpreting, a way to engage with our surroundings. Some of us feel great with 28mm, others with 35mm or 50mm, and yet others with 85mm. These are the four focal lengths that pretty much define the way I see the world in some way, shape, or form. Personally, I’ve shot all four but I always ended up coming back to the 35mm but with that said I’m now warmed up to the 50mm. Is it a sin to be a multi focal length lover? No, I love the 35mm field of view and I love the 50mm as well, so much so, I ended up getting the X100S and the XF 35mm 1.4R but now I’m rethinking my kit.
Who’s not over a few pounds from their ideal weight at 40. I mean I use to play collegiate tennis back in circa ’95 but that was many moons ago. These days, I just walk around and make pictures with the best companion one can have on the streets – the Fuji X100s, a camera that was made for walking. Here are a few from a recent walk at Coral Gables including MIracle Mile.
